Glossary: 

Litespeed Plugin – This plugin communicates with your LiteSpeed Web Server and its built-in page cache (LSCache) to deliver superior performance to your WordPress site. The plugin’s cache features indicate to the server that a page is cacheable and for how long, or they invalidate particular cached pages using tags.

Website Caching – Website caching refers to the process of storing copies of web pages or resources temporarily to reduce server load and improve site performance. When a user visits a website, their browser can retrieve cached files instead of requesting them anew from the server. This speeds up load times, reduces bandwidth usage, and improves overall user experience. Caching can occur at different levels: browser caching, where files are stored locally on the user’s device; server-side caching, where content is stored on the web server; and intermediary caching, often used by content delivery networks (CDNs) to store content closer to users geographically for faster access. 

Website Optimization – Website optimization is the process of improving the performance, functionality, and user experience of a website to achieve specific goals, such as faster load times, higher search engine rankings, better accessibility, and increased user engagement or conversions.

6. Procedure Details

6.1. Preparation and Prerequisites

• Litespeed Plugin
• Litespeed Setup SOP

6.2 Timeline for Task Completion

• 20 Minutes – 40 Minutes per website depending on the issues encountered during the setup

6.3. Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Install Litespeed Plugin

2. Go to Plugins -> Add new plugin
   

3. Search for Litespeed and Click Install

 

4. Click Activate
   

5. Hover to Litespeed -> Page Optimization
   

6. CSS Settings

   1. Enable – CSS Minify, Inline CSS Async Lib

   2. Font Display Optimization – Swap

7. Save the settings and check the website for any layout issues.

   1. Clear the LiteSpeed cache and Cloudflare cache.

   2. Verify the website in an incognito window.

   3. For any issues, refer to “Exception and Problem Handling.”

8. JS Settings

   1. Enable – JS Minify

 

9. Save the settings and check the website for any layout issues.

   1. Clear the LiteSpeed cache and Cloudflare cache.

   2. Verify the website in an incognito window.

   3. For any issues, refer to “Exception and Problem Handling.”

10. HTML Settings

    1. Enable HTML Minify

    2. Enable Remove Query Strings

    3. Enable Remove WordPress Emoji

    4. Enable Remove NoScript Tags

11. Save the settings and check the website for any layout issues.

    1. Clear the LiteSpeed cache and Cloudflare cache.

    2. Verify the website in an incognito window.

    3. For any issues, refer to “Exception and Problem Handling.”

 

12. Check all pages to make sure nothing breaks on the following.

    1. Animations

    2. CSS

    3. HTML Layout
